The 2019 Dream

I (Pierre Godot) and we (Die Godots) havn't done any music since "Nacktschneckendisco" and "Miniaturen" ( -> Bandcamp.com).
I fell asleep, and since I am the living part of Die Godots the Bandproject also sleeps. But I can hear the 80's Pierre shout: "Get up, you lazy pumpkinhead! You'll ruin my career! We've been waiting for too long! Make us great again! Compose a triangle symphony! Or maybe you can try a bowielike science fiction nonsens like Ziggy Stardust... even if you have to use a wig! We are germans, so it has to be electro syntho experimento... maybe something with robots... artificial intelligence and stuff, you know... that fits and they like it!"

Woke up drenched in sweat.

Uuh! What a nightmare!

It's july again

Another month for me and you... (and so on... Iggy Popish...)
I feel tired.
I go to sleep again.
See ya maybe in 2053.
That's 35 years from now.
Like 2017 has been 35 years from 1982.
The 1982/2017 Album "Nacktschneckendisco" is out at bandcamp.
If you miss me, get it and play it every day.
Or visit https://rolfmenk.blogspot.de every day.

Die Godots

Die Godots (The Godots) are a two person band which is slightly different. While in a normal pop group usually different persons come together at the same place and time to make music, the Godots are a band where the same person at different times and places plays together. The young Pierre Godot once recorded the instrumental background in the early eighties, while the old Pigo (me) wrote and sang the lyrics in 2016 and 2017.
September 2016. A hedge trimmer elbow (tennis elbow, lateral epicondylitis) prevented me from playing instruments for months. Restricted to singing and writing I realised that my 1982-1984 tracks needed lyrics and vocals to be complete. 35 years later I'd found out that these tunes are lousy instrumentals but good pop songs. So the old Pigo of 2017 and the young Pierre Godot of 1982 founded the band "Die Godots" and worked out a new album called "Nacktschneckendisco" (slug disco). It once (01 June 2017) was published as a music cassette but now only is available via https://pierregodot.bandcamp.com.

Marble man

I've red somewhere that Pierre Godot didn't record anything except the 1982 "Das Warten hat sich gelohnt" cassette.
This is incorrect. Although nothing has been published, I recorded 200+ tracks on 20+ cassettes in 1979-1984. Solos and furthermore the torture ambient (new style!) of Was keiner wusste and the charming jewellery of Garygk Anarchimkobv.

You can find it now at dance-on-the-noise-floor.blogspot.de (link at the right side)

Pigo

Pierre Godot appearing and reappearing

It was thirty years ago today,
Sgt. Punk told Pierre Godot to play.
Do the Electro Krautpunk!
Dance on the noise floor!

Once in late 1981 there was an advertisement in a german music magazine where someone wants to start a cassette label, looking for artists / bands to publish. A demo tape later Mr. Tim Renner, the cassette labelist of "Zukunftsfroh", and Mons. Pierre Godot, the cassette artist of "Das Warten hat sich gelohnt" worked out their project.

Slurry Pop Girl

I started making a kind of electro kraut punk in 1979, "playing" all instruments and non-instruments I could get and fell asleep for 30 years in 1985. - In 2015 Felix Kubin and Doug Shipton exhumed me, put me onto their operating table in castle golden poodle's lab, flooded me with electricity and I woke up.

And now I am here...

Waiting for you...

Still working on a program called "Return to the planet of the dilettantes" to be played live... some day... I hope...

Au revoir,
PiGo
